Residential Leases
All residential tenancies, and residential leases, in Tasmania are regulated by the Residential Tenancy Act 1997. This act establishes the rights and obligations of all Lessors and Lessees, also known under the Act, and more commonly referred to as Landlords and Tenants.
The Real Estate Institute of Tasmania has prepared a standard form residential lease, which complies with the Act. It is available from us, or from the Institute directly for $25.00. However, if you need a residential lease with special clauses or provisions, our lawyers are trained to assist and advise you to ensure that your legal position is properly protected.
