Matthew Pawson
Managing Partner
Matthew Pawson is the Managing Partner of the firm, and is the head of Commercial Practice Group.
Matthew completed a combined degree in Law and Commerce from the University of Tasmania and was admitted to practice in August 2000. Matthew joined the firm as a graduate lawyer in 2000.
He is a member of the Property and Commercial Committee of the Law Society of Tasmania, a part-time lecturer at the Centre for Legal Studies in Hobart and guest presenter for the Law Society of Tasmania on GST. Matthew is also a Fellow of, and the Tasmanian appointed National Councillor to the Board of the Taxation Institute of Australia.
Matthew's legal interests are in business structuring, property development transactions and GST and other taxation advice. His clients are drawn from a broad range of local, interstate and international investors, developers and business people.
Outside the office, Matthew enjoys travel, basketball, skiing, writing music and he does extensive work with youth development programs in various capacities.
